When a Friend Becomes Your Boss (or Vice Versa)

With demanding work schedules and long commutes, it's no wonder that many workers make friends with their co-workers. But these friendships can be jolted by workplace changes, including promotions.
When you become your friend's manager -- or your friend becomes yours -- it changes not only your working relationship but also your friendship. Experts offer four helpful tips for navigating this complicated territory.
Acknowledge the change. The new manager will have access to business-related information that can't always be shared. And it may no longer be appropriate for you to gossip about co-workers like you used to.
"There are new boundaries about what you can talk about and share," says Nancy K. Schlossberg, Sarasota, Fla.-based co-principal of TransitionWorks and author of "Overwhelmed: Coping with Life's Ups and Downs."
If you're the new boss, "you control some resources that might go to your friend," Schlossberg says. And if your friend got a promotion you had been hoping for, "you might feel angry and resentful."
"There's an elephant in the room when this happens," Schlossberg says. "Let's make it explicit."
Find others to talk to. Even though you and your co-worker can remain friends, you will lose parts of your old relationship -- and you need to find a way to replace the support you used to get from sharing secrets with your friend, or complaining about the boss together.
"One of the strategies is to develop some support systems with people in a similar role in other organizations," Schlossberg says. Professional associations can be a good way to do this.
If a friend becomes your boss, assess and talk through your feelings about the change with someone else, suggests Yvonne Blockie, a career counselor in San Jose, Calif. "Am I feeling positive: 'She really deserves the promotion, how can I support her?' If I feel negative, where are my negative feelings coming from?"
Discuss it with your friend. It may help to talk with your friend about the way your relationship has changed. What you say depends on a lot of factors -- which of you is the new boss, whether you're genuinely happy about the situation, how close your relationship was before the promotion. In a few cases, it may be more productive to keep quiet.
If you are happy for your friend-turned-boss, Blockie suggests saying so. "You might even say, 'I realize that as a manager now things may change a little bit, but we've been friends, and I think the important thing is that we support each other. I'm really here to support you and help you be successful,'" Blockie suggests.
Be optimistic. Things may turn out better than you expect. Marianne Adoradio, a career counselor in Silicon Valley, once became the supervisor of some friends who had been her peers. She discovered that her friends were delighted at the change -- they expected her to be a more supportive boss than their previous one.
"You have to separate the friendship from what you have to do as a boss," Adoradio says. "As long as they stay respectful, they might be surprised at how well it can go."

The popularity of sweets has made candy-making into big business, and if you already love cooking and candy, a confectioner or baker's career may be perfect for you.

โดยเฉพาะ . . . ความทรงจำที่ปวดร้าวที่จะมีน้ำหนักมากกว่า . . . ความทรงจำของความสุข หลายเท่าตัวจึงควรจัดการลบความทรงจำร้าย ๆ ทิ้งไปซะบ้างอะไรที่มันไม่จำเป็น ต่อการหายใจ ก็จัดการลบทิ้งไปซะจะได้มีพื้นที่ ในกล่องความทรงจำว่างมากขึ้นเพื่อรอสิ่งดีๆ เรื่องราวดีๆ เข้ามาเติมเต็ม
แม้ว่า . . . การลบใครออกจากใจสักคน จะไม่ใช่เรื่องง่ายแต่ . . . ถ้าเรา ไม่ให้ความสำคัญกับเขา อีกต่อไปและการนึกถึงช่วงเวลาที่เรารักกัน แล้วร้ายต่อกันให้น้อยลงที่สำคัญ หยุดตั้งคำถามซะตั้งแต่วันนี้ . . .ว่าทำไมเขาถึงทิ้งเราไปได้ . . . หรือเราไม่ดีตรงไหน

Starlight

My father stands in the warm eveningon the porch of my first house.I am four years old and growing tired.I see his head among the stars,the glow of his cigarette, redderthan the summer moon ridinglow over the old neighborhood. Weare alone, and he asks me if I am happy."Are you happy?" I cannot answerI do not really understand the word,and the voice, my father's voice, is nothis voice, but somehow thick and choked,a voice I have not heard before, butheard often since. He bends and passesa thumb beneath each of my eyes.The cigarette is gone, but I can smellthe tiredness that hangs on his breath.He has found nothing, and he smilesand holds my head with both his hands.Then he lifts me to his shoulder,and now I too am there among the stars,as tall as he. Are you happy? I say.He nods in answer, Yes! oh yes! oh yes!And in that new voice he says nothing,holding my head tight against his head,his eyes closed up against the starlight,as though those tiny blinking eyesof light might find a tall, gaunt childholding his child against the promisesof autumn, until the boy sleptnever to waken in that world again.

Il y a un pont qui relie le Paradis et la Terre.

On l'appelle le 'Pont de l'Arc-en-Ciel' à cause de ses nombreuses couleurs. Au bout du Pont de l'Arc-en-Ciel, il y a un pays de prairies, de collines et de vallées luxuriantes.

Quand un de nos compagnons décède, il va là-bas. Il y a toujours de la nourriture et un temps printannier. Les animaux vieux et faibles sont jeunes à nouveau. Ceux qui ont été blessés ou mutilés sont de nouveau en pleine forme. Ils jouent ensemble toute la journée.

Une chose manque tout de meme : ils ne sont pas avec ceux qui les ont aimés sur terre. Alors, chaque jour ils courent et jouent, jusqu'au moment où l'un d'eux s'arrete soudain de jouer et regarde en l'air. Son nez s'agite ! Ses yeux fixent l'horizon ! Et tout d'un coup, il s'éloigne en courant du groupe, volant au-dessus de l'herbe verte, ses jambes le portant de plus en plus vite.

Il vous a vu, et, quand vous vous rencontrez, vous prenez votre compagnon dans vos bras, et vous l'étreignez. Les bisous pleuvent sur votre visage encore et encore et encore, et vous dévisagez une fois de plus votre ami tant adoré.

Alors vous traversez ensemble le Pont de l'Arc-en-Ciel, pour ne plus jamais être séparé.

Woods keeps streak alive

NORTON, Mass. (AP) -- He knows how many majors Jack Nicklaus won, Sam Snead's record for total victories and, yes, Tiger Woods knows all about Byron Nelson's 11-tournament winning streak, too.
"It wasn't just 11. It was 11 in a row, 12 out of 13, 18 for the year," Woods said, rattling off the details in rapid fire. "That will work."
Woods won his fifth consecutive tournament on Monday, shooting an 8-under 63 in the final round of the Deutsche Bank Championship to beat Vijay Singh by two strokes. With his 53rd career victory, Woods moved past Nelson into fifth on the all-time list.
But he still has some work to do to top Nelson's record-setting streak from 1945.
"In this day and age, with this competition, to win 11 in a row would be almost unheard of," Woods said when asked how Nelson's accomplishment compared with others, like Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak. "What Byron accomplished, that goes down as one of the great years in the history of our sport. ... DiMaggio's record, I see that being broken more than winning 11 in a row."
Woods' streak began with the British Open -- his first victory after his father died. Now, he's almost halfway to Lord Byron's mark, matching the best final round of his career to finish at 16-under 268 and win for the seventh time this year.
No other player has won more than twice.
Woods won six straight at the end of 1999 and the start of 2000, and Ben Hogan won six in a row in 1948. Woods plans a week off before heading to England for the HSBC World Match Play Championship, followed by the Ryder Cup.
His next PGA Tour start will be the American Express Championship outside London at the end of September.
Is 11 within reach?
"If a lot of guys pull out," Woods said with a laugh.
Singh shot a course-record 61 on Sunday to take a three-stroke lead into the final day. But he followed that up with a 68, shooting even par on the front nine while Woods went 6 under -- with two eagles -- on the first seven holes.
"Normally it's good enough. Today it wasn't," Singh said. "Tiger played incredible on the front nine. I hung in there but I made too many mistakes."
Brian Bateman shot 66 to finish third at 8-under 276. Justin Rose, who entered the day tied with Woods in second, closed with a 72 to finish in a tie for fourth at 7 under with Robert Allenby (68).
"I was 4 over through five holes; he was 4 under through five," Rose said. "Obviously, it was 'Game Over' for me."
Woods twice shot 63 in the final round at the Byron Nelson Championship and once at Disney, but this was his lowest final round in a tournament that he won. It also was his largest comeback in the final round since he overcame a five-shot deficit at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in 2000, which he won for his sixth straight victory.
In the process, he crossed out something else on his ever diminishing "to-do" list: He had never won the Deutsche Bank Championship, a tournament that lists his foundation as one of its charitable beneficiaries. The closest he came in three previous tries was 2004, when Singh won a head-to-head matchup on the final day to knock Woods from atop the world rankings after 264 weeks at No. 1.
There are only five events left on the PGA Tour that Woods has played in more than once without winning.
Woods, who did not make bogey in his last 47 holes, missed a 6-foot birdie putt on the first hole but made an eagle on the par-5 second. He tied Singh on the third with a 15-foot birdie putt and moved into first with a 25-footer on the fifth.
"I just had to run him down as fast as possible, try to at least get him by the front nine was over. But I was able to do it within three holes," Woods said.
"One of the hardest things to do in our sport is follow up a great round with another great round. So I just kept thinking that if Vijay shot something in the high 60s, I figured mid-60s would either get me in a playoff or win it. And that was what I had in mind today, and I was able to actually go a little bit lower than that."
Singh landed the green from a bunker 87 yards out on the seventh hole, spinning his ball to within 2 feet of the pin for a tap-in birdie. But Woods curled in from 10 feet for his second eagle of the day and a two-stroke lead.
"He hits a great shot," Woods said. "So if I make my putt, I take all his momentum away from him. And I knocked it right in there."

เมื่อวานนี้ เป็นวันที่หนุกมากในตอนเย็น

หลังจากที่เรียนมาแร้วทั้งวัน

เลิกเรียนปุ๊บ ก้อมีเรื่องให้ออกจากโรงเรียนปั๊บ (ก้อแหมทุกที..ออกจากโรงเรียนน๊านนาน)

เรื่องก้อมีอยุ่ว่า....

เมื่อวานนี้ เพื่อนในห้องของฉันคนนึง ชื่อ แตง กลับมาจากเมืองนอก ประเทศอเมริกา

ก่อนหน้าที่จะถึงวันนี้ แม่ของเค้าบอกให้ฉัน ชวนเพื่อนๆ มาเลี้ยงกันที่บ้าน

เพื่อนๆมากันก้อหลายคนอยู่ ประมาณ 20 กว่าคนเห็นจะได้

มาถึงเราก้อกินกันอย่างขะมักเขม้น พออิ่มแร้วก้อไปย่อยโดยการ ปั่นจักรยานเล่นกัน

คือประมาณว่า มีรถซัก 6-7 คัน ขี่ต่อๆกันเรื่อยๆ มีแต่คนมองทั้งนั้น

แต่แร้วก้อเกิดเรื่องหนุกๆ คือว่า...

เพื่อนของฉัน 2คน ขี่รถด้วยกัน เค้าขี่ท้ายสุดเลย แต่แล้วเค้าทั้ง2 ก็ถูกหมาไล่กวด

เค้าทิ้งรถลง จูงมือกันวิ่งอย่างไม่คิดชีวิต ข้ามแอ่งน้ำไปเลย 55+

แต่แหมฉันไม่ได้เห็นกับตาตัวเอง เสียดายจัง

วันนี้ทำให้พวกเรามีความสุขมากๆ ได้เฮฮากัน

อยากให้มีภาพเหล่านี้อีก

L'histoire de la Saint-Valentin

La plupart des rites qui étaient associés à la Saint-Valentin sont maintenant disparus. Autrefois, les amoureux devaient fabriquer eux-mêmes leur carte et composer leur déclaration d'amour. Tout cela se faisait dans l'anonymat... Au Moyen Âge, on appelait "valentin" le cavalier que chaque fille choisissait pour l'accompagner lors de sorties. Le cavalier devait faire un cadeau à la fille. C'est aussi le 14 février que les jeunes filles essayaient de deviner comment serait leur futur mari. Pour cela, elles regardaient les oiseaux: si elles voyaient un rouge-gorge, elles se marieraient avec un marin, un moineau signifiait un mariage heureux, mais avec un homme peu fortuné, tandis qu'un chardonneret indiquait un mariage avec un homme riche. Au fait, il me semble avoir vu des oiseaux... Et toi?
En ce qui concerne l'identité de saint Valentin, les historiens ne sont pas en accord. Au total, sept saints chrétiens prénommés Valentin sont fêtés le 14 février! Lequel est à l'origine de cette fête? Mystère!
La plupart des historiens croient que la Saint-Valentin est associée aux Lupercales romaines. Les lupercales étaient des fêtes annuelles célébrées le 15 février en l'honneur de Lupercus, le dieu des troupeaux et des bergers. Ces fêtes marquaient le jour du printemps, dans l'ancienne Rome. Pour cette occasion, on organisait une sorte de loterie de l'amour. Cela consistait à tirer au hasard le nom des filles et des garçons inscrits, de façon à former des couples qui sortiraient ensemble tout le reste de l'année! Ouf! Un an, c'est long! สิ่งนี่แหละ..ที่ฉันต้องใช้นอน ดูเหมือนไม่น่าจะเป็นไปได้ แต่มันก็เป็นไปแล้วแหละ (ทรหดอย่างมากเลยอ่ะ) แล้วยังต้องใช้เวลาในการก่อร่างสร้างกว่าจะมาเป็นรูปร่างเช่นนี้ ให้ใช้นอนได้ ซึ่งในตอนกลางคืน กลั๊วกลัวว่ายุงจะเข้ามาข้างใน

คิดดูล่ะกันน้า รอดปลอดภัยจากพวกยุงทั้งหลายได้ ดีขนาดไหนแล้ว55+++

ในการปฏิบัติธรรมครั้งนี้ ....
ถึงแม้จะน่าเบื่อ หรือหลายคนไม่ชอบเท่าไร แต่ก็มีหลายสิ่งหลายอย่างเกิดขึ้นมากมาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นความรัก ความสามัคคีที่เพื่อนมีให้ต่อเพื่อน พระคุณของบิดามารดาที่อบรมเลี้ยงดูเรามา หรือแม้กระทั่งพระคุณของครูบาอาจารย์ที่ให้ความรู้แก่เรา
และในวันนี้เอง ซึ่งเป็นวันสุดท้ายของการเข้าค่าย ต้องมีการทำบุญตักบาตรส่งท้ายกันหน่อย เราใส่บาตรกันในตอนเช้า มีพระทั้งหมด 60 รูป
(เยอะเนอะ) เราเข้าค่ายกันทั้งหมด 3 วัน 2 คืน และถือเป็นครั้งแรกของฉันที่ได้เข้าค่ายอย่างนี้ มันเป็นไรที่น่าจดจำอย่างยิ่ง ...จริงมั๊ย??
